The RN1810 is an ultra-low power, 2.4 GHz IEEE 802.11b/g/n surface mount module. This small form factor module is a complete Wi-Fi solution with on-board TCP/IP networking stack, integrated PCB trace antenna, cryptographic accelerator, power management subsystem, real-time clock, 2.4 GHz transceiver and RF power amplifier. The RN1810 is fully-certified, freeing the designer from RF and antenna design regulatory compliance testing, which provides faster time to market. The RN1810 is configured with a simple ASCII command language which speeds up prototyping and shortens development time. In the simplest configuration, the module requires only power, ground and UART TX and RX connections.
With the RN1810, designers can embed Wi-Fi and networking functionality rapidly into virtually any device. The RN1810 provides cost and time-to-market savings as a self-contained Internet-enabling solution. The module has been designed to provide designers with a simple Wi-Fi solution that features:
• Ease of integration and programming
• Vastly reduced development time
• Minimum system cost
• Long battery life
• Maximum value in a range of applications
The RN1810 has an integrated PCB trace antenna (Part Number RN1810-I/RM100) and the RN1810E has an ultra-small W.FL connector for external antennas (Part Number RN1810E-I/RM100)
