Atmel Studio
MPLAB® X IDE, a highly configurable software, is the recommended IDE for legacy Atmel devices (check supported device list). MPLAB X IDE features a data visualizer, an I/O view and helpful design resources to minimize development time.
We also offer Microchip Studio, which replaced Atmel Studio, as an IDE for developing and debugging AVR® and SAM MCU applications.

Atmel START is deprecated. No new devices, boards or updates will be added, and it is offered as-is.
We strongly recommend that you use MPLAB® Code Configurator (MCC) for your new projects. MCC is a plug-in for MPLAB X IDE that offers a free graphical programming environment to generate seamless, easy-to-understand C code to insert into your project.
