Memory Xplorer Embedded Memory Evaluation Platform

Rapid Memory Selection and Faster Development Time

Stand-alone memory allows you to easily increase storage capacity in your embedded application, giving you greater design flexibility. However, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed with so many device options. Fortunately, the Memory Xplorer evaluation platform makes it easier to choose a device by allowing you to visually evaluate our I2C, SPI and single-wire EEPROM devices, boosting your confidence in the product you selected. Memory Xplorer provides the ability to quickly test device-specific features and evaluate variable functionality like voltage and frequency.

Time to market is key for the survival of large and small businesses. However, development tools for memory products tend to be product specific, outdated or nonexistent, making the development process long and painful. Memory Xplorer cuts development time; device selection is accelerated with the help of a Zero Insertion Force (ZIF) socket that allows you to rapidly swap devices. The platform also works for programming and verification of data and can even be used as a simple memory programmer for sample builds, allowing you to get prototypes to customers or to other functional groups for evaluation quicker than ever before.

GUI and USB-Based Evaluation Kits for Quick Product Navigation

Memory Xplorer evaluation platform combines an easy-to-read, easy-to-navigate Graphical User Interface (GUI) with our USB-based evaluation kits. No matter which evaluation kit you purchase, the software will make memory navigation a breeze. The interface allows you to:

  • Generate, write, load HEX files or read and erase the memory
  • Test features such as write protect, software addressing, serial numbers and MAC addresses
  • Evaluate variable features like voltage range and operating frequencies
  • Supports our enhanced feature set (24CSxxx/25CSxxx series) EEPROM devices

Please note that the software only works when one of the evaluation kits is connected to your computer.

Use our interactive graphic below to explore the functionality of the GUI.

Getting Started

Here’s how to get started:

  1. Purchase one of the kits below. Each kit includes various memory devices that can be placed into the socket for exploration.
  2. Download the Memory Xplorer software from the Downloads section at the bottom of this page.
  3. Start evaluating your devices.

To test additional devices, order free samples from our purchasing portal. Visit the product page for each evaluation kit for a full list of supported devices. Order samples in the eight-lead SOIC package for the I2C and SPI kits and the three-lead SOT-23 package for the single-wire kit to ensure the samples fit into the evaluation kit sockets.
