Model Context Protocol (MCP) Servers

Overview of Our Model Context Protocol (MCP) Servers

Our MCP servers employ the Model Context Protocol to power AI chatbots and intelligent applications. They enable structured, real-time access to product data, documentation, inventory and technical content using natural language queries from MCP clients.

Built on MCP Streamable HTTP standards, these servers deliver context-aware responses optimized for AI clients such as assistants, AI chatbots, Large Language Model (LLM)-based Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) and enterprise AI agents. They integrate our data directly into development environments and intelligent assistants. All our MCP servers are publicly accessible at no cost and require no authentication.

We currently offer two MCP servers, each serving a distinct purpose:

  • Microchip MCP Server: structured product data, specifications, inventory and compliance
  • MPLAB-DOCS MCP Server: vectorized technical content, code examples, videos, training and reference designs

Most users connect to both servers—one helps ground the AI in which device to use and whether it is available, while the other focuses on how to design with it and write code for it.

Microchip Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server

How to Use Microchip MCP Server

Microchip MCP Server is a remote MCP server that uses Streamable HTTP. It is compatible with MCP-based client applications that can connect to the endpoint.

MPLAB-DOCS  Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server

The MPLAB-DOCS MCP Server provides semantic access to our technical documentation corpus. Content is returned through vector search, so the model retrieves the most relevant passages for the question at hand and grounds its responses and its generated code in our technical material.

How to Use the MPLAB-DOCS MCP Server

The MPLAB-DOCS MCP Server is a remote MCP server compatible with MCP client applications that can connect to the endpoint.
