The ATF697FF is a multichip module integrating the Microchip's AT697F SPARC V8 rad-hard processor, the Microchip ATF280F SRAM-based FPGA and an internal PCI link. The ATF697FF operates at up to 100MHz, at down to 0.7W, for space applications today. By executing powerful instructions in a single clock cycle, the processor unit achieves throughputs around 1 MIPS per MHz, allowing you to optimize power consumption versus processing speed.
The two dice have been especially designed for space applications by implementing hardened cells, on-chip concurrent transient and permanent error detection and correction, and permanent self-integrity check mechanism. The ATF697FF is designed to be used as a building block in computers for on-board embedded real-time applications, and brings up-to-date functionality and performance for space applications. The device requires only memory and application-specific peripherals to be added to form a complete on-board computer.
Both the processor unit and the reconfigurable unit are manufactured using the Microchip 0.18um rad-hard AT58KRHA CMOS technology.
