Demonstration of Our LED Cube Using RISC-V-Based PolarFire® SoC FPGA

This session demonstrated video playback on a matrix LED display cube using a RISC-V-based PolarFire SoC FPGA in the open-source BeagleV®-Fire module.

Demo Description
Driver Monitoring System This demo detects the expressions of a driver using the PolarFire® SoC Video Kit camera. Whether the driver is distracted on their phone, sleeping or wearing any gadgets, the system will provide notification for driver awareness.
BeagleBoard.org® LED Cube This demo features a five-sided cube of 64 × 64 LED panels powered by the PolarFireSoC FPGA-based BeagleV®-Fire Single-Board Computer (SBC). The LED matrices are driven by the HUB75 protocol, and binary coded modulation is used for shading. A custom cape (daughter card) is used to connect the LED panels to the BeagleV-Fire Self-Balancing Robot (SBC).
BeagleV-Fire Self-Balancing Robot  This demo is a self-balancing robot using the BeagleV-Fire board. The demo uses the mobile inverted  principle using a PID control to hold the robot upright. The demo uses a BeagleV-Fire board based on a PolarFire SoC FPGA.
SLVS-EC™ to Multi-Channel CoaXPress with PolarFire Family This demo showcases our latest PolarFire FPGA-based solution for bridging SLVS-EC to CoaXPress, which are high-speed transceiver-based interfaces widely adopted in advanced vision systems. SLVS-EC, operating at up to 5 Gbps per lane, and CoaXPress 2.0, supporting up to 12 Gbps per lane, are two of the most popular and emerging standards for industrial machine vision, robotics and medical imaging applications. This solution demonstrates how PolarFire FPGAs enable seamless data transport between the two, while delivering exceptional power efficiency and reliable real-time performance, which are key requirements in edge AI and embedded vision systems.
TSN-Enabled Precision Control for the Smart Factory with PolarFire SoC FPGAs This demo showcases how PolarFire SoC FPGAs enable efficient, real-time motor control, with a rich set of interfaces and easy programmability for control system architects and embedded developers. Built for industrial applications, it supports Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN), making it an excellent choice for connected, synchronized motion systems in robotics, automation and beyond.
AI at the Edge with VectorBlox SDK on PolarFire FPGA Experience low-power edge AI with our PolarFire SoC FPGA using the VectorBlox™ Accelerator SDK and FPGA-based AI engine. This demo showcases a complete neural-network video-processing pipeline running on the PolarFire SoC Video Kit. Live video input from MIPI®-CSI-2® or HDMI® is processed in real time using popular models like YOLOv3-tiny and MobileNetV2. Results, including bounding boxes and labels, are displayed via HDMI, demonstrating efficient AI inference under 5W, which is an excellent choice for edge applications in vision, surveillance and embedded intelligence.
