The Temperature Indicator (TempIND) peripheral allows the microcontroller (MCU) to perform simple die temperature measurements without using external components. You can use the TempIND as a simple thermometer or temperature alarm.
The TempIND is internally connected to the on-board Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC). The ADC converts the analog output of the peripheral to a digital value. The digital value can then be converted to a physical temperature (see the data sheet for more information on this process).
The accuracy of the TempIND depends on a variety of factors and varies depending on the device and the surrounding environment. More information about this can be found in the device documentation.
For applications that require high-accuracy temperature measurements or remote sensing capabilities, we offer dedicated temperature-sensing integrated circuits.
