Embedded/Keyboard Controller: MEC1322, MEC16xx, MEC14xx

Microchip is a leading provider of high-performance, feature-rich mobile embedded controllers built on years of expertise in serving many of the world's leading PC OEMs. Our scalable family of devices supports the new Enhanced Serial Peripheral Interface (eSPI) and existing Low Pin Count Interface (LPC) to communicate with the system host.

Touch Sensing and LED Feedback: CAP12XX/PIC® MCU

Microchip’s mTouch® sensing solutions enable designers to easily design and integrate touch technologies into their applications. The mTouch sensing solutions are proven and used in many applications worldwide due to its superior noise robustness, no additional external component requirements, ease of implementation and the range of products.

Microchip has the industry's broadest portfolio with 8-bit, 16-bit & 32-bit PIC® MCUs. We offer turnkey as well as firmware based solutions and dedicated proximity solutions. We offer I2C, SPI, UART, USB, SMBUS or CAN communication as well as easy integration with LCD or Graphics.

Touch Pad, PCap Touch Screen Controller MTCH6XXX/PIC® MCU

Microchip’s Projected Capacitive sensing technology enables X-Y multi touch sensing, as well as gesture reporting. Microchip also offers turnkey Resistive touch screen controllers with advanced features. Our products give you accurate, fully processed coordinates that work out of the box.

Motion Coprocessor: SSC7102

The SSC7102 motion coprocessor is a Windows 8.1 certified, HID over I2C, low-power, flexible, turnkey solution. SSC7102 makes implementing sensor fusion easy for ultrabooks, laptops and notebooks. Microchip created this solution for Windows-based computing applications, enabling faster time to market without the need for sensor-fusion expertise.

Temperature Sensor: EMC14XX, EMC118X

Microchip manufactures a variety of temperature sensors. One example of a temperature sensor for computing applications is the EMC1422. The EMC1422 is a high accuracy, low cost, System Management Bus (SMBus) temperature sensor. Advanced features such as Resistance Error Correction (REC), Beta Compensation (to support CPU diodes requiring the BJT/transistor model including 45nm, 65nm and 90nm processors) and automatic diode type detection combine to provide a robust solution for complex environmental monitoring applications.

USB 2.0/3.x/HSIC Hub Controller (wFlexConnect):
USB253x, USB3x13, USB46x4, USB553x

Microchip's family of versatile, cost-effective, and power-efficient USB 2.0 and USB3.0 hub families provide a USB port expansion solution for USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 applications that demand ultra-low power and a small footprint without compromising on performance. In addition, Microchip's hub products include Hi-Speed Inter-Chip (HSIC) based USB 2.0 hub controller, and controllers supporting the USB-IF Battery Charging 1.2 specification designed specifically for portable computing products.

A tablet computer, or simply tablet, is a mobile computer with display, circuitry and battery in a single unit. Tablets are equipped with sensors, including cameras, microphone, motion sensors and touchscreen, with finger or stylus gestures replacing computer mouse and keyboard.

Tablets may include physical buttons, e.g., to control basic features such as speaker volume and power and ports for network communications and to charge the battery. An on-screen, pop-up virtual keyboard is usually used for typing.

Tablets are typically larger than smart phones or personal digital assistants at 7 inches (18 cm) or larger, measured diagonally.
