The LX7309 is a versatile current-mode DC-DC controller for isolated and non-isolated topologies, featuring an internal differential current-sense amplifier for Kelvin connectivity and low 200mV threshold for low sense resistances and high efficiency. The LX7309 provides an out-of-phase drive signal for implementing synchronous rectification or for active clamps. Max duty cycle is 50%, which is helpful in implementing the simple Forward converter topology, but also helps avoid subharmonic instability without requiring slope compensation in other cases. It has differential voltage sensing for implementing other topologies too. The switching frequency can be set from 100-500 kHz, and can be synchronized up to 1MHz. The input has programmable UVLO thresholds. The controller offers Power Fail Warning (PFW). Programmable-threshold Low Power (pulse-skip) Mode is provided to improve light-load efficiency.
