E-paper EPD PICtail Plus Daughter Board

E-paper EPD PICtail™ Plus Daughter Board is an extension board to the Microchip® Explorer 16 Development Board. EPD PICtail Plus Daughter Board is designed to kick-start e-paper development with Microchip Graphic Library and PIC Microcontrollers including PIC24, dsPIC33 and PIC32 families.

There is on board 40 pins FPC connector connects to our E Ink based EPD panels. The driving circuit supports driving 1.44 inch, 2 inch and 2.7 inch EPD panels via SPI interface. All three sizes of EPD ship with the EPD PICtail Plus Daughter Board. The sample Microchip MPLAB® X IDE project provides source driving waveform including global update and partial update with command interface to update content on EPD panel for developer to start working with EPD application easily.

Visual Graphics Display Designer (VGDD) lets you easily draw complex user interfaces for your embedded project based on Microchip`s Graphics Object Library. Supports PIC24, dsPIC and PIC32 MCU families. You can use all the original GOL objects (Button, StaticText, etc.) and GPL objects (Arc, Circle, Line, Rectangle) plus several custom and external widgets. You can create an unlimited number of screens with many widgets on each. Converts fonts and bitmaps easily. VGDD generates pure C code that can be added to existing MPLAB IDE projects. It also includes a Wizard that generates complete projects for many combinations of development boards and displays. The built-in simulator allows you to test and evaluate the user interface on a PC, and even distribute it to others using a freeware player. VGDD runs on Windows; the freeware player also runs on Linux and Mac. Single PC license.

To document the structure of your GUI application, Embedded Wizard can automatically create Microsoft HTML help files (chm), which are especially helpful when transferring your project to colleagues, customers or third parties for maintenance and modifications. Embedded Wizard Studio facilitates the handling of different themes, layouts, screen resolutions and color schemes within one GUI project.


MPU users have a wide choice for developing GUIs.  Many people use the simple graphic functions that are built into Linux.  For an improved GUI experience, customers can choose a graphic framework from companies that support Microchip’s SAMA5 MPU family with SDKs, such as The Qt Company or Qt Project, Crank Software, Segger emWIN, Express Logic GUI-X, TouchGFX, Embedded Wizard among others.

The Mikromedia Board is a palm-sized unit with amazing multimedia capabilities. It includes a 320 x 240 TFT display with touchscreen, stereo MP3 codec, 8-Mbit serial flash, microSD card slot, headphone jack, and a USB connector. Powered by USB, the board can easily play MP3 files from a microSD card with full 320 kbps quality.

Example projects and documentation are included for mikroC, mikroBasic, and mikroPascal PRO compilers, which are available direct from MikroElecktronika. The board includes two programming ports: one for PICkit® 3 and one for MikroEs LV24-33 programmer/debugger.

LCD0025 - Truly TFT 3.2 320x240 Color Display with 4-wire Touch Panel

IC00409 - Solomon Systech SSD1926 LCD Graphic Controller

The SSD1926 is a Solomon Systech graphic controller with a built-in 256Kbyte SRAM display buffer supporting color and mono LCD. The SSD1926 can support a wide range of active and passive panels and interface with various CPUs. The advanced design, together with integrated memory, internal PLLs, and timing circuits produces a low-cost, low-power solution. The SSD1926 supports most of the common resolutions and features hardware display rotation, covering various cursors to reduce the software manipulation, JPEG hardware decoder, 2D graphics acceleration, and SD card interface.
