Monolithic RF transceiver IC for the automotive and smart RF markets, providing industry's lowest power consumption, high sensitivity and high output power. Automotive applications include remote keyless entry (RKE), passive entry go (PEG), remote start (RS) and tire pressure monitoring (TPMS) systems. In addition, the ATA5833 is also suited for various Smart RF applications, for example, remote control systems such as garage door openers; or telemetering applications.
The device's superior blocking capabilities eliminates disturbances so that the digital logic is rarely awakened. This results in a current consumption as low as 9.8mA typ. in receive mode (low-band, 1.2mA, 21ms cycle, 3-channel polling) and 9.4mA/13.8mA typ. in transmit mode (low-band, Pout = 6dBm/10dBm) for even smaller end-application designs.
The RF transceiver IC provides high sensitivity at -123dBm (0.75kbit/s, FSK, Manchester code, at 433.92MHz) and -109dBm (at 20kbit/s, ASK, Manchester code, at 433.92MHz), respectively. The high output power of -12dBm to -14.5dBm is programmable in 0.4-dB steps. Both high sensitivity and high output power allow for extended RF transmission distances.
The ATA5833 combines RF functionality with a proven Microchip AVR® microcontroller core. Configuration via the EEPROM enables quick and seamless adaptation to the individual application needs. Programming is done via the SPI - even on-the-fly during operation.

ATAK51004-V2 provides a complete system showing an all Microchip® solution for Remote Keyless Entry (RKE), Passive Entry Passive Start (PEPS), and Immobilizer (IMM) applications. This system uses AES-128 encryption to protect the realistic multi-channel RF and LF communication protocols and supports 1-way RF communication for PEPS.
