CoaXpress

CoaXPress v2.0 is an interface for connecting cameras (devices) to frame grabbers (hosts). It utilizes a primary connection, supplemented by optional extension connections, to form a communication link. Each connection within this link supports data rates up to 12.5 Gbps, with both data transmission (device to host) and control signals (host to device) carried over a single coaxial cable.

Features and Benefits

  • Included Components :
    • Includes both CoaXPress Host IP and CoaXPress Device IP.
  • CoaXPress Protocol Compliance :
    • Meets the requirements of CoaXPress v2.0 protocol.
    • JIIA NIF-001-2013 Compliance.
    • Consists of one master connection and optional extension connections to form a link.
    • Supports up to 12.5 Gbps data rate per connection.
  • Link Architecture and Data Rates :
    • Downconnection: Device to Host.
      • Dynamic Switching of the high-speed Downconnection data rate.
    • Upconnection: Host to Device.
      • Low-speed Upconnection: Supports 41.6 Mbps or 20.83 Mbps
      • High-speed Upconnection/Downconnection: Supports 1.25 Gbps, 2.5 Gbps, 3.125 Gbps, 5 Gbps, 6.25 Gbps, or 12.5 Gbps.
    • Both upconnection and downconnection are transmitted on the same coax cable within one connection pair.
  • Logical Channels :
    • Stream Channel: For stream data (e.g., image data from device to host).
      • Supports up to Four Stream IDs (i.e., up to four Stream Data Packet (SDP) Mappers and Demappers).
    • IO Channel: For real-time triggers (trigger event on trigger frame reception).
    • Control Channel: For device control (frames from host to read and write device control registers).
  • Data Integrity :
