Introduction to PolarFire® FPGAs

Course Details

Introduction to PolarFire® FPGAs is a one-day course for engineers who are interested in learning how to use PolarFire FPGAs in their designs. This class describes the PolarFire FPGA architecture, including the logic element, RAM blocks, math blocks, uPROM, clocking resources and I/Os. It also introduces the PolarFire FPGA’s high-speed serial interfaces and unique debug features. Hands-on lab exercises will demonstrate how to use Libero® SoC Design Suite to take a design from concept to functional prototype.

Location

This class is taught virtually using WebEx®

Course Objectives

  • Develop an understanding of the PolarFire FPGA family architecture details and learn how to implement designs using these features
  • Become familiar with the Libero SoC Design Suite design flow to implement PolarFire FPGA designs

Course Requirements

Requirements for Hands-on Lab

  • The latest version of Libero SoC Design Suite installed with the working license file (Silver license or paid license)
  • One of the following kits; see FPGA Kits and Hardware for more information:
    • PolarFire Splash Kit
    • PolarFire Evaluation Kit
    • PolarFire SoC Discovery Kit
    • PolarFire SoC Icicle Kit

If you do not have one of these kits, you can still create the design and run the simulations, but you will not be able to program and debug your design.

Registration
