Product Roundup: January 2026

Microchip's Product Roundup features a selection of our latest products, reference designs and software solutions. Explore how these innovative technologies can elevate your next design project.

Accelerate Your Next PROFINET Design with Microchip MPUs

Microchip’s microprocessors (MPUs) are low‑power, single‑core devices capable of supporting high‑performance, software‑intensive workloads that are increasingly moving beyond MCU capabilities—all while enabling Linux® for easier software integration. New to Microchip’s software stacks is PROFINET — a real‑time industrial Ethernet protocol — that enables fast data exchange, flexible network topologies and smooth IT integration. PROFINET is optimal for robotics, motion control and process automation. Combined with Microchip MPUs, it offers a scalable, reliable foundation for modern industrial equipment.

Microchip Expands PCIe® Portfolio to Extend Connectivity, Enhance Precision Timing, and Lower BOM Costs

Microchip’s PCI11414C, PCI11400C, PCI11101C, PCI11010C and PCI12000C are single-chip PCIe® Gen 4 (at 8 GT/s) fanout switches that feature highly integrated peripherals for seamless connectivity. This next-generation family of PCIe switch devices bring more features to customers that are developing with PCIe and have asked for enhancements to differentiate their products. Key features include cabled and optical PCIe links, PCIe precision time measurement, reduced Bill of Materials (BOM), tape and reel options and more.

The PCI11414C integrates a USB host, quad UART, and networking capabilities, making it ideal for systems requiring versatile communication interfaces. It is housed in a 164-lead VQFN package (13x13x0.9 mm) and is RoHS compliant. The PCI11400C features a 4-port USB host for high-speed data transfer and multiple USB connections, offered in a 132-lead VQFN package (11x11x0.9 mm), also with standard and automotive grade options and RoHS compliance. Both devices are part of a larger family of PCIe peripheral devices within Microchip’s Networking and Connectivity Solutions, providing robust PCIe switching and USB host integration for demanding embedded environments.

Libero® SoC Design Suite Update to Version 2025.2

Libero SoC Design Suite v2025.2 extends Microchip’s FPGA and SoC development environment with incremental improvements focused on stability, consistency and long-term usability. The release supports PolarFire®, PolarFire SoC, SmartFusion® 2, IGLOO®2, RT PolarFire, and RTG4™ device families, maintaining a unified flow from RTL and SmartDesign entry through implementation, timing analysis, and device programming.

Version 2025.2 continues the transition toward the enhanced constraint flow, with migration guidance available for legacy projects. Updates in synthesis, place and route and timing analysis emphasize repeatable results and predictable closure across a wide range of production designs. Licensing infrastructure is aligned with current 64-bit FlexLM® daemons, improving compatibility across supported Windows® and Linux® platforms and simplifying deployment in shared or enterprise environments. Libero SoC v2025.2 is designed for teams developing low-power, security-focused, and long-lifecycle FPGA and SoC products who value toolchain continuity and controlled evolution over disruptive workflow changes.
