Mature Security IC Products

Use the links below to see a list of the mature products in each category that are not recommended for new designs. While they are still available for purchase and not end-of-life at this stage, any support tools, software or code examples related to these products are no longer being maintained.

CryptoAuthentication™ ICs

CryptoAuthentication ICs are architected with hardware-based cryptographic accelerators to improve execution time and reduce power consumption. A high-quality random number generator and EEPROM-based secure key storage are also embedded inside these devices. They also come with physical anti-tampering and side-channel attack protections to block access to provisioned system credentials. The following devices are mature products:

CryptoMemory® ICs

The CryptoMemory family of ICs comprises a range Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory (EEPROM) devices and host-side security for applications requiring data protection, including mutual authentication between devices and a host. CryptoMemory ICs include a 64-bit embedded hardware encryption engine, four sets of nonreadable 64-bit authentication keys and four sets of nonreadable 64-bit session encryption keys.

CryptoRF® ICs

CryptoRF devices ifeature a 13.56 MHz Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) interface, a 64-bit embedded hardware encryption engine, mutual authentication capability and up to 64 Kbits of user memory. These devices are found in applications that are prone to counterfeiting, require a permanent chain of ownership or use contactless smart cards for cash transactions. They are also suitable for use in adverse environmental conditions where dust, dampness or temperature extremes can cause problems for digital devices. The following devices are mature products:

CryptoCompanion™ Chips

CryptoCompanion chips are used on the host unit and paired with either a CryptoMemory or CryptoRF IC.  The following are mature products:
