When operating, Kemet’s haptic actuators are comparable to ceramic piezoelectric devices. The main difference is that they are much thinner because they are made from flexible polymer film materials instead of larger and bulkier ceramic materials. Our MCUs, HV amplifiers and other electronic components drive these actuators to create high-definition, localized tactile sensations when stimulated with different waveforms.
We provide a complete hardware and firmware system solution to drive multiple actuators in an integrated form factor. This architecture is scalable to drive as many actuators as needed to provide independent and localized haptics effects.
