The EV29L76A evaluation board allows for the development of applications using Microchip's MEC1653B keyboard and embedded controller for notebook PCs. The MEC1623 is an Arm Core M4F Embedded controller that supports a wide range of peripherals and cryptographic security features. The board is designed to interface with the Intel Meteor Lake (MTL) Reference Validation Platform (RVP) through a 240 pin connector and the onboard key board connectors. Power to the board and communication to the device is provided through the USB connector. The USB Connector also connects to a Microchip MCP2200 USB to UART converter allowing for device communications and debug information. The device can be configured through an onboard 20-pin JTAG connector.
The board includes a Gigadevices 1.8V 512Mbit 16 pin QSPI Flash memory. The memory is socketed allowing a customer to replace with the size and vendor of their choosing. Through use of onboard jumpers either 1.8V or 3.3V memory can be utilized. The memory image can be programmed through use of an 8 pin SF100 Dediprog programmer.
The keyboard interface is made up of an easy to connect 18 Pin and an 8 pin KSI FFC/FPC cables. The device supports the industry standard low pin count ESPI interface and provides several additional connectors for programming and debug capability.
