The MIC33M650 is a high-efficiency, low-voltage input, 6A
peak current synchronous step-down Power Module. The Constant-ON-Time (COT)
control architecture with HyperLight Load™ provides very high efficiency at
light loads, while still having ultra-fast transient response.
The MIC33M650 output voltage is set by two VSEL (Voltage Selection) pins, up to nine different values. This method eliminates the need for an external feedback resistor divider and improves the output voltage setting accuracy.
The 2.4V to 5.5V input voltage range, low shutdown and quiescent currents make the MIC33M650 ideal for single-cell Li-Ion battery-powered applications. The 100% duty cycle capability provides low dropout operation, extending operating range in portable systems.
The MIC33M650 pinout is compatible with the MIC33M656 I2C-based programmable regulator version, such that applications can be easily converted. An open-drain Power Good output is provided to indicate when the output voltage is within 9% of regulation and facilitates the interface with an MCU, or power sequencing. If set in shutdown (EN=GND), the MIC33M650 typically draws 1.5 µA, while the output is discharged through 10 ohm pull-down.
The MIC33M650 is available in a thermally efficient, 53 Lead 6mm x 10mm x 3mm thin B1QFN package, with an operating junction temperature range from –40°C to +125°C.
DT100107 evaluation boards are intended to provide a platform allowing customers to easily evaluate the features of the new MIC33M650 6A Power Modules in a buck converter application with adjustable output voltage through pin-strapping using on board jumpers. These boards are ideal for powering core supply voltages and also high power single-cell Li-ion battery powered applications. The...
The MIC23650 Evaluation Board is developed to evaluate and demonstrate Microchip Technology’s MIC23650 product. The board features the MIC23650 in a typical Buck application supplied from an external source, between 2.4V – 5.5V. Nine output voltage levels can be set via two Voltage Select pins. Test connectors allow probing, while the board can be loaded up to 6A.
