Smart Power with CIP Hybrid Control

Using traditional methods to add the necessary intelligence to cost-sensitive analog designs has been a challenge. Digitally controlled power supplies are an optimal solution for many power delivery applications, offering greater flexibility, higher efficiency and longer system life than fully analog supplies. Find out how our hybrid power MCUs are a flexible solution for a wide range of applications.

PAC1934 Energy Harvesting Demo

This demonstration illustrates a world where alternative sources of power (electrical grid, solar, and wind) must be used interchangeably to supply power to a house.  It uses a four-channel DC power monitor to emulate power accumulation and storage and then uses the stored power in a model house.

AC Power Monitoring

The AC power monitoring demo uses the MCP39F511N and MCP39F511 power monitoring ICs to measure power through a wall outlet.  A Graphical User Interface (GUI) then displays power usage data—such as active, reactive and apparent power—in a web browser. This system provides an easy way to monitor the electrical behavior of home devices and appliances and to quickly detect malfunctions if an overpower or overcurrent event is observed.
