How Secure Firmware Updates Over-the-Air Works with TrustMANAGER & keySTREAM!
This demo illustrates how our TrustManager in-field provisioning enables secure FOTA updates for connected devices. The EV89U05A kit, with the ATECC608 secure element, securely connects to the Kudelski IoT keySTREAM cloud platform and is provisioned with the necessary keys and certificates, including a public key, forms a public-private key pairing created in keySTREAM. A firmware update is loaded into keySTREAM and signed using the private key. Once triggered, the device securely downloads the signed firmware image and verifies the signature using the private key before loading the firmware into the bootloader. There are two kinds of firmware in this demo. One for sensing temperature and the other for sensing light. Using a tablet, you can trigger either the temperature or light firmware to load on the device where the data will be shown on a small LCD screen of a microbus kit mounted on the EV89U05A.
