SPS Demo Preview

Demo Description
10BASE-T1S Sustainability Demo This demonstration, which integrates a heat pump with a lean, cloud-based home automation application, illustrates how 10BASE-T1S technology can be leveraged to support sustainability initiatives. It simulates all-Ethernet connectivity for various devices within a home heating automation system in a three-room house, with an external heat pump that is connected to room controllers via more than 50 meters of cable. It also showcases how secure communication over Ethernet can help protect against man-in-the-middle cyberattacks.
Mobility Reference Design Solutions The e-Scooter Motor Control Reference Design supports hub and mid-drive designs for two-wheeler and three-wheeler electric power trains. The design is tailored to meet the safety, reliability and performance requirements of modern e-Scooters. By leveraging our components and adhering to stringent safety and operational standards, this motor control reference design facilitates accelerated development and provides flexibility to integrate innovations, thereby enabling the creation of differentiated products.
Imaging Synthesizer The Imaging Synthesizer demo showcases how our advanced technology supports high-performance industrial imaging and automation. This demo utilizes the PolarFire® FPGA, powered by the MCP16701 high-performance Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC) to synthesize precise waveforms that drive high voltages to our transmitters and multiplexers (HVMuxes). The system is engineered to generate complex, high-speed signals required for industrial imaging applications, such as robotic guidance, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and automated inspection. By integrating components like the HV2925 high-voltage multiplexer, SM806 ultra-low jitter clock, TC6320 high-voltage MOSFET pulse generator and MD1822 MOSFET driver, the demo delivers reliable, real-time, high-resolution imaging. These capabilities are essential for improving accuracy, safety and efficiency in automated industrial environments. The demo highlights how our robust and flexible solutions can be adapted to a variety of industrial use cases, providing a strong foundation for next-generation automation and quality control systems.
Dynamic Motor Control Operating with an SA Studio application running firmware on the SAME54 32-bit microcontroller (MCU), this demonstration exhibits on-chip real-time analysis used to determine unbalanced loading in a motor control system with statistical models, communicating via a Python®-based script using TensorFlow™. This allows the overall system to utilize cloud-based secondary processing for the model to both learn and be redeployed across additional end nodes. Using predictive maintenance as an example, this demonstration unit uses a torque sensor, dynamometer and Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motors to detect anomalies in motor operation for different load scenarios.
Motor Control Edge AI Predictive Maintenance Demonstration This predictive maintenance demo detects whether a motor is in a balanced or unbalanced state by analyzing its quadrature current (Iq) and RPM. To simulate an unbalanced condition, weights are added to the motor’s cog. An edge AI model developed using the MPLAB® Machine Learning Development Suite is trained on Iq and RPM data collected with the MPLAB Machine Learning Data Collector. The model runs on a single-core 16-bit dsPIC33CK256MP508 Digital Signal Controller (DSC), enabling efficient real-time analysis at the edge. Motor control is handled by the MCLV-48V-300W Development Board, with no need for external sensors, such as IMUs or microphones.
SLVS-EC™ to Multi-Channel CoaXPress 2.0 This demo showcases how our latest PolarFire FPGA-based solution can be used for bridging SLVS-EC to CoaXPress 2.0 in advanced vision systems. SLVS-EC, which operates at up to 5 Gbps per lane, and CoaXPress 2.0, which supports up to 12 Gbps per lane, are two of the most popular and emerging standards for industrial machine vision, robotics and medical imaging applications. This solution demonstrates how PolarFire FPGAs enable seamless data transport between the two, while delivering exceptional power efficiency and reliable real-time performance—both critical requirements for edge AI and embedded vision systems.
Real-Time Motor Control with PolarFire SoC This demo shows how PolarFire SoC FPGAs enable efficient, real-time motor control with a rich set of interfaces and easy programmability for control system architects and embedded developers. Built for industrial applications, it supports Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN), making it excellent for connected, synchronized motion systems in robotics, automation and beyond.
600-1700V IGBT Power Modules Explore our versatile Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) power modules up to 900A and 1700V with multiple topologies, configurations and industry-standard or custom packages. The IGBT 7 portfolio provides 50% higher current capability, 15% lower losses and enhanced dv/dt controllability to withstand junction temperatures up to 175°C.
TSN Ethernet Switch Technology and POE Built on our expertise in networking and advanced timing technologies, our next-generation TSN switches deliver exceptional precision and performance for critical networks. Our TSN switches use the open standards of Ethernet to prioritize precise traffic scheduling and transmit data to critical devices through deterministic and bounded latency communications.
Trust Manager Building Access Management Printer This demo showcases a 3D printer with an electric door lock equipped with a CryptoAuth TrustMANAGER Development Kit that contains the ECC608 TrustMANAGER device. The ECC608 device protects cryptographic assets that are connected to the keySTREAM cloud management SAAS by Kudelski IoT, allowing users to rotate, revoke and renew credentials and update firmware throughout the lifetime of their IoT products.
AIoT-Agile System Adoption Platform This demo simulates an AIoT platform of sensors, actuators and control systems managing a shop floor manufacturing environment via 10BASE-T1S Ethernet connectivity. The demo’s edge controller is based on our advanced SAMA7D65 microprocessor (MPU), which is equipped with enhanced graphics capabilities.
Smart Industrial Thermostat The Smart Industrial Thermostat demo integrates a modular three-node network (sensor, panel, gateway) to mimic factory automation nodes. It shows edge-level intelligence, bidirectional control, seamless multi-protocol wireless interoperability: reliable IEEE® 802.15.4-based mesh networking and secure cloud connectivity using Wi-Fi®. This turnkey example accelerates industrial IoT adoption by demonstrating scalable, low-power wireless automation with real-time monitoring and control capabilities.
Multi-Motor Demo This demo uses the PIC32MK MC3 microcontroller (MCU) to control three motors simultaneously, each managed by its own push button for start and stop, and potentiometer for manual speed control. See how a single microcontroller can efficiently handle multi-motor control in real time for robotics, automation or motion control applications.
