Low IQ Boost Converters for Monitoring and Efficient Utilization of Alkaline Batteries
Designing single or two-cell battery-powered applications requires good knowledge and understanding of the battery’s capabilities and its chemistry, and which converter is suitable to power the target application. Microchip offers a new boost converter family for
alkaline batteries (MCP1641X) in which the start-up
voltage can be programmed and the battery status can
be monitored. These new boost converters can work
independently or attached to a microcontroller for a
complete power management solution.
