eMMC 5.1 IP Solutions


Arasan's eMMC 5.1 Solution IP provides a high-performance, JEDEC-compliant embedded storage subsystem designed for next-generation mobile, consumer, industrial, networking, automotive, and embedded applications. Building upon previous eMMC generations, the solution delivers higher bandwidth, improved reliability, advanced power management, and enhanced security features for managing embedded NAND flash storage. The IP enables efficient handling of operating systems, application code, multimedia content, and persistent user data while minimizing system complexity through integrated storage management functionality. Based on the JEDEC eMMC architecture, the solution supports high-speed data transfers, advanced partition management, command queuing, boot capabilities, and secure storage mechanisms required by modern embedded systems. The architecture is designed to support multiple bus widths, DMA acceleration, boot modes, error detection, and flash abstraction capabilities that isolate the host from underlying NAND technology details. Security and reliability are enhanced through Replay Protected Memory Block (RPMB), secure erase operations, write protection mechanisms, and integrity checking features. The solution is suitable for FPGA, SoC, and ASIC designs requiring a robust, standards-compliant embedded storage interface.
