DisplayPort TX IP is a high-performance video and audio transmission solution for PolarFire® and PolarFire® SoC FPGA devices. Designed as a DisplayPort source, the IP transmits video and optional LPCM audio to DisplayPort-compliant monitors and display devices while adhering to the VESA DisplayPort 1.4a specification. The core supports Single Stream Transport (SST) operation with configurable 1-, 2-, or 4-lane main-link configurations operating at standard DisplayPort link rates of 1.62, 2.7, and 5.4 Gbps per lane. The IP accepts either native video or AXI4-Stream video inputs and converts incoming pixel data into DisplayPort main-link symbols for transmission through PolarFire FPGA transceivers. It supports RGB, YCbCr 4:4:4, and YCbCr 4:2:2 pixel formats with color depths ranging from 6 to 16 bits per component. Advanced capabilities include dynamic resolution detection, integrated AUX channel management, Hot Plug Detect (HPD), DisplayPort link training, LPCM audio transport with up to eight channels, and VSC Secondary Data Packet generation for extended colorimetry and HDR signaling. These capabilities make DisplayPort TX IP well-suited for high-performance video processing systems, professional displays, industrial vision systems, KVM devices, embedded graphics platforms, and next-generation display applications.
