The thermocouple is one of the oldest and most widely used electronic temperature sensing devices. It consists of two wires, made from two dissimilar metals, that are welded together at one end. This creates a junction where the temperature is measured.

There are many types of thermocouples, each with its own unique characteristics in terms of temperature range, durability, vibration resistance, chemical resistance and application compatibility.  They provide a fast thermal response, are unaffected by vibration, are self-powered and can withstand temperatures ranging from -270°C to 2100°C, making them extremely versatile and ideal choices for use in harsh environmental conditions.
