Keep your ATWINC3400 running smoothly and securely with the latest firmware. To assist you in updating the firmware of your ATWINC3400 devices, we provide the newest and previous versions of the necessary installer files and detailed instructions for both ASF3 and MPLAB^® Harmony v3 environments.

About ATWINC3400

The ATWINC3400 is a highly integrated single-chip solution that combines IEEE^® 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 compliant modules. It is designed to provide low-power, high-performance wireless connectivity for IoT devices. The module includes a full-featured Wi-Fi MAC, Bluetooth stack, and a range of networking protocols to offload the host MCU.

Update Instructions

For Harmony v3 Users

To update your firmware using Harmony, refer to the KBA How to Update WINC3400 Firmware. This article contains detailed instructions and links to installer packages. Release notes are available in the document table below.

For ASF3 Users

Firmware upgrade via UART interface:

1. Download the firmware upgrade demo corresponding to your MCU.
2. Execute the provided batch file to initiate the upgrade.
3. Refer to the included document WINC_Devices_Integrated_Serial_Flash_Download_Procedure.pdf for detailed steps.

Firmware upgrade via OTA:

1. Locate the OTA image m2m_ota_3a0.bin in the firmware update project.
2. Upload this image to your HTTP server.
3. Follow the OTA firmware upgrade guide for comprehensive instructions.

Driver update:

1. Download the latest WINC3400 driver.
2. Replace existing driver files in your project directory with the new ones.
3. Recompile and run your project.

Important Notes

OTA Integration

It's strongly recommended to incorporate OTA functionality into your applications. The OTA feature has a minimal memory footprint and ensures your device remains up-to-date with the latest firmware enhancements.

Python Dependency

For Windows users with multiple Python versions, ensure that Python 2.7 is prioritized in your system's PATH. Execute the following command in your command line: "set PATH=<PYTHON_DIR_PATH>;%PATH%".
