Description
The UCS1002 will automatically connect with an attached portable device. However, sometimes the connection may not be the charger emulation profile that provides the highest current to the portable device. A powerful system solution to solve this dilemma is to use an MCU to apply each charger emulation profile in succession, measure each current draw, and then choose the profile with the highest current. Included in this application note are two implementation examples. The first uses the Custom charger emulation profile option, while the second uses the built in profiles, namely Legacy 1-6. As a result, system design now allows for an optimized charging solution, where the resulting current will always be the highest current possible with the profiles used.
