EVB-PCI11010C

Overview

The EVB-PCI11010C is a demonstration and evaluation platform that provides the necessary requirements and interface options for evaluating the PCI11010C, a single-chip PCIe® switch with RGMII/SGMII Ethernet MAC (with IEEE-1588v2 support) and programmable I/O options (I2C/SPI/UART/GPIO), on a six-layer RoHS-compliant Printed Circuit Board (PCB). This kit allows the user to gain an understanding of the product and accelerate the integration of the PCI11010C into the user’s design.

This evaluation platform includes one downstream PCIe port, an SFP cage allowing for Cu, optical and DAC connections.  An RS-232 is also provided for serial connectivity.

EVB-PCI11010C demonstrates PCIe, 2.5G Networking, and I2C/SPI/UART/GPIO driver compatibility in Linux®, Microsoft® Windows®, and Android.  Options exist for QNX, VxWorks and FreeBSD.

An additional software tool, MPLAB Connect, is used for advanced configuration and diagnostics.  This extends to PCIe virtual eye diagram.  A fantastic solution for designers to visualise PCIe connections.
