EVB-PCI12000C-M.2

Overview

The EVB-PCI12000C-M.2 board provides a real world example M.2KeyE interface.  Using PCI12000C two separate PCIe ports are generated and made available at an M.2 connector.

The board is fitted to a standard M.2KeyM connector where only one PCIe port is provided.  This allows the user to gain an understanding of different M.2 configurations and accelerate their integration with a known working example.

PCIe Precision Time Measurement (PTM) provides for coherence over the PCIe switching function.  Of specific interest to customers requiring PTM between their root complex and endpoints.

EVB-PCI12000C-M.2 demonstrates PCIe fanout / packet switching together with UART providing compatibility in Linux®, Microsoft® Windows®, and Android.  Options exist for QNX, VxWorks and FreeBSD.  Proven through to the application layer in security and AI applications.  Used in Home Assistant and Frigate NVR examples.

An additional software tool, MPLAB Connect, is used for advanced configuration and diagnostics.  This extends to PCIe virtual eye diagram.  A fantastic solution for designers to visualise PCIe connections.
