Recruitment Scam Alert

Recently, we have been informed about online scams or phishing attempts where unauthorized individuals are falsely claiming to be recruiters for Microchip Technology Inc. or its subsidiaries. These scammers may ask for payment related to job applications, equipment or sensitive financial information, such as bank details.

Microchip will never:

  • Request banking or payment information during the application or interview process.
  • Ask candidates to register and pay for a training class as part of the application or interview process.
  • Ask candidates to receive or ship packages or goods as part of the recruitment process.

If someone requests such information or actions, assume they are not associated with Microchip.

What to Watch For

  • Unsolicited Contact: Be cautious of unexpected text messages or cold calls. We do not contact candidates through instant messaging.
  • Suspicious Email Addresses: Our Talent Acquisition team only uses email addresses ending with “@microchip.com”. Scammers may falsely display “@microchip.com” or hyphenated variations (e.g., “@careers-microchip.com”) as the sender domain. Be wary of generic emails like Gmail or Yahoo in job-related communications.
  • Vague Job Details: Our open positions and detailed descriptions are posted on the Microchip Careers page.
