Overview
The EV94W70A Evaluation Board provides a compact, hands‑on platform to evaluate Microchip’s MCP4XUXX 10‑bit digital potentiometers and familiarize with their serial interfaces and daisy‑chain operation mode. The board relies on a connector compatible with the mikroBUS™ standard, which allows it to be interfaced with a wide range of microcontroller development boards (for example, the PIC32MZ MXS Data Capture Board — EV64F02A — or the Curiosity High‑Pin‑Count (HPC) Development Board). The EV94W70A exposes device pins, serial lines, and labeled breakouts, enabling users to efficiently explore its features and integrate or debug host firmware with minimal setup required.
- Covers all supported serial interface options: SPI, I²C, and SPI daisy-chain.
- One device accessible via SPI and one device via I²C for side‑by‑side comparison.
- Three devices connected in SPI daisy‑chain mode(*) for multi‑device demonstrations.
- Compatible with the EV64F02A (PIC32MZ MXS Data Capture Board) and the Curiosity HPC board for immediate use with provided GUI tools and firmware.
- MCP4XUXX 10‑bit digital potentiometers are AEC-Q100 qualified, ensuring reliable device integration into automotive and industrial applications.
(*) Note: The daisy‑chain devices have their chip‑select assigned to the INT pin of the mikroBUS™ connector. Because they share the other SPI bus communication lines with the regular SPI device, the unused CS pin should be pulled high to prevent it from interfering with the daisy-chained SPI devices.
