The EVB-PCI11414C is a demonstration and evaluation platform that provides interface options for evaluating the PCI11414C . Providing 2.5G Ethernet, an integrated USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10G) host controller and programmable I/O options (I2C/SPI/UART/GPIO), on a six-layer RoHS-compliant Printed Circuit Board (PCB). This platform allows the user to gain an understanding of the product and accelerate their integration of this solution within their design. Ethernet Precision Time Protocol and PCIe Precision Time Measurement (PTM) are both supported using this hardware.
The evaluation platform includes four USB-IF compliant ports: One (1) USB Type-C at USB 3.2 Gen 2 SuperSpeed+ port and three (3) USB Type-A at USB 2.0 High-Speed.
This evaluation platform also includes 1 DFP PCIe port, and an on-board KSZ9131 Ethernet transceiver (10/100/1000 Mbps). This version of the board also presents LAN8651 10BASE-T1S via SPI in addition to RS-232/485 connectivity.
EVB-PCI11414C demonstrates PCIe, USB Host, 10BASE-T1S and I2C/SPI/UART/GPIO driver compatibility in Linux®, Microsoft® Windows®, and Android. Options exist for QNX, VxWorks and FreeBSD.
An additional software tool, MPLAB Connect, is used for advanced configuration and diagnostics. This extends to PCIe virtual eye diagram. A fantastic solution for designers to visualise PCIe connections.
