Overview
The EVB-LAN9646 evaluation board is a plug-in daughter card that directly interfaces the SAM9X75 host processor on the Curiosity Platform over a EDS2 SODIMM card edge interface. This daughter card features the 6-port LAN9646 L2 Gigabit Ethernet switch and supports all chip port interfaces. The host interface is configurable with default jumper settings supporting full Gigabit RGMII mode. Integrated copper PHY interfaces are exposed through four RJ-45 jacks with integrated magnetics and LED indicators and capable of auto-detection 10/100/1000Gbps. Additionally, SGMII is accessible with an on-board SFP module cage supporting a variety of high speed twisted pair, fiber optic and direct-attach copper (DAC) modules.
The EVB-LAN9646 comes supported with pre-compiled Linux Distributed Switch Architecture (DSA) software images configured to run on the Curiosity SAM9X75 platform and easily booted from a micro SD card. Full source code with step-by-step build instructions and hardware design files also freely available for immediate development.
