Building High-Performance Data Paths: New Evaluation Platforms for AI and Vision Systems
Bringing AI and vision designs to life starts with reliable data movement. Learn how our latest evaluation kits help engineers prototype imaging and networking paths early, reduce design risk and move from concept to working system faster.
Microchip released two evaluation platforms designed to help developers prototype and benchmark data-intensive systems much earlier in the design cycle:
- MPF100-QCXP-KIT FPGA-based high-speed imaging bridge
- EV13R40A High-performance Gigabit Ethernet PHY interface
MPF100-QCXP-KIT — FPGA Vision Bridge for High-Speed Imaging
The MPF100-QCXP-KIT is a high-bandwidth bridge evaluation platform that connects multiple SLVS-EC image sensors to CoaXPress frame grabbers using a PolarFire FPGA. It supports up to four CXP-12 links and comes with a ready-to-run demo, enabling rapid prototyping of vision and AI streaming applications.
Value to engineers:
Prototype high-bandwidth vision data paths without waiting for multiple hardware spins—dramatically reducing integration risk and time-to-prototype.
EV13R40A — Gigabit Ethernet Interface for High-Integrity Connectivity
The EV13R40A evaluation platform provides a dedicated environment for testing and validating the Microchip VSC8541 Gigabit Ethernet switch’s physical layer through a high-performance EDS2 daughter card.
The EV13R40A board lets engineers validate physical-layer connectivity, signal integrity, link negotiation and interoperability before committing expensive silicon or custom PCB layouts.
Value to engineers:
Catch PHY-layers and link integrity issues early so that higher-level networking stacks behave predictably in production systems.
