Development tool for applications that protect confidential files, encrypt downloads, perform two-factor logons, authenticate products, and prevent software piracy. The kit includes an AVR base board (ATMicrobase) with a USB interface to connect to a PC, and daughterboard that interfaces to the AVR base board via a 10-pin header or via a 20-pin header (not populated) for the Xplained Pro series. The daughterboard has two 8-pin SOIC sockets for either client or client-host development which can support an ATECC108, an ATSHA204, or an ATAES132 device. Software developed on the PC can also serve as the base for code ported to an embedded microcontroller. Source code can also be edited for integration with ARM or other platforms. This kit uses a modular approach, enabling the daughterboard to connect directly to an STK series AVR development platform to easily add security to applications. An optional adapter kit is also available if the 10-pin header on the daughterboard requires a different pin out. ACES allows developers to demonstrate the functionality of the CryptoAuthentication device.
