The Microchip AT7913E SpaceWire Remote Terminal Controller (SpW-RTC) is a single-chip embedded system that includes a radiation-hardened by design (RHBD) SPARC V8 core with an FPU (IEEE-754). The AT7913E SpW-RTC provides the capability to effectively perform data handling at platform level, as well as powerful data processing at payload level. It includes both CAN and SpaceWire LVDS interfaces for bridging traffic from sensor networks onto a high-speed data rate SpaceWire network, at up to 200Mbit/s. Its EDAC-protected FIFO and memory interfaces allow interfacing with peripheral I/Os that can perform specialized data processing tasks.
The AT7913E SpW-RTC includes a redundant CAN 2.0 bus controller with DMA, ADC/DAC digital interfaces for analog acquisition/conversion, standard interfaces and resources (UARTs, timers, general-purpose input/output).
The AT7913E can be operated on a stand-alone basis or with a number of external devices, such as SRAM, PROM and FIFO memories, ADC and DAC. It can operate as a single-chip system with software being uploaded to its on-chip 64-Kbyte memory via the SpaceWire link interface, forming a compact solution for remotely controlled applications. It can also operate in a full-size system, with software being decompressed from local PROM and executed from multiple fast and wide SRAM memory banks.
