SDI_TX is a high-performance SMPTE-compliant Serial Digital Interface transmitter IP for PolarFire® and PolarFire® SoC FPGAs. Designed for professional broadcast, cinema, medical imaging, and AV applications, the core enables reliable transmission of uncompressed video, embedded audio, and HDR metadata over SD-SDI, HD-SDI, 3G-SDI, 6G-SDI, and 12G-SDI interfaces operating from 270 Mbps to 12 Gbps. It supports resolutions ranging from SD video to 4K UHD, while providing dynamic adaptation to changing color formats, pixel depths, frame rates, and video standards without requiring hardware reconfiguration. The IP supports advanced video formats including RGB, YCbCr, and alpha-channel variants, as well as 8-, 10-, and 12-bit color depths. Integrated audio packetization supports SMPTE-compliant embedded audio, while HDR metadata insertion enables support for HDR10 (PQ), HLG, and SDR content workflows. With automatic resolution detection, VPID insertion, CRC generation, AXI4-Stream and Native interfaces, and optimized integration with PolarFire transceivers, SDI_TX provides a low-latency, broadcast-quality solution for modern FPGA-based video transmission systems.
