SDI_RX is a high-performance Serial Digital Interface receiver IP designed for PolarFire® and PolarFire® SoC FPGA devices. The IP provides reliable reception and decoding of uncompressed video and embedded audio streams transported over professional SDI interfaces and supports industry-standard SD-SDI, HD-SDI, 3G-SDI, 6G-SDI, and 12G-SDI protocols. The core dynamically detects incoming SDI data rates from 270 Mbps to 12 Gbps and automatically adapts to changing video formats without requiring hardware reconfiguration. The architecture incorporates SDI deframing, video re-timing, audio extraction, HDR metadata extraction, CRC validation, VPID decoding, and automatic color format detection. The IP supports a wide range of video formats and resolutions, from SD video up to 4K UHD at 60 fps, while supporting dynamic color spaces including YCbCr 4:2:2, YCbCr 4:4:4, RGB 4:4:4, RGBA 4:4:4:4, and YCbCrA 4:4:4:4. It also supports automatic detection of 10-bit and 12-bit pixel formats through SMPTE VPID processing. Additional capabilities include embedded audio extraction, HDR10 and HLG metadata extraction, AXI4-Stream and Native interfaces, automatic rate detection, and robust signal integrity monitoring through CRC and checksum validation. These features make SDI_RX ideal for broadcast infrastructure, professional AV systems, live production equipment, video capture systems, cinema workflows, and FPGA-based video processing platforms.
NOTE: SDI_RX consolidates the capabilities previously offered by both CoreSDIRX and CoreUHD_SDIRX into a single, unified SDI receiver IP
