The Defective Pixel Correction IP core is designed to identify and rectify defective pixels that are commonly found in modern Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor (CMOS) / Charge-Coupled Device (CCD) image sensors. This core operates in real-time and does not require any calibration. Defective pixels are identified as pixels with anomalous values that differ from the rest of the pixels. The correction process involves replacing the defective pixel with the median value of neighboring pixels of the same color.
