The Aurora_8B10B IP is a high-speed, light-weight serial communication protocol designed for efficient data transfer. Its primary function is to receive data from the AXI4-Stream interface, convert it into the Aurora data format, and transmit it through the Transceiver interface. Similarly, it receives data from the Transceiver interface, decodes it, and delivers it to the AXI4-Stream interface as either data or a flow control message. The Aurora_8B10B IP does not include the Physical Coding Sublayer (PCS). Instead, it must be implemented with the Transceiver Error Reporting Mechanism (ERM), which utilizes 8B10B PCS encoding and decoding for serial data transmission. This approach ensures reliable and efficient communication in high-speed data transfer applications.
