Overview
The PIC32CXMTSH-DB lets designers quickly evaluate and develop code for smart energy applications built around two high-performance 32-bit Arm® Cortex®-M4F processors, including a 5 channel 24b Sigma Delta ADC (2V, 2I and one temperature sensor) metering analog front end. The PIC32CXMTSH Development Board is ideal for fast getting started using the Dual Cortex-M4F architecture, which allows the integration of the application layer, communications layers and security functions in a single device. The board is designed to interface with current transformers, Rogowski coils and shunt resistor current sensors. The board is equipped with extension connectors for communications boards such as Power Line Communication (PLC) and/or RF modules.
- Residential (2 voltages and 2 currents) Smart Meter Demonstrator
- Dual Arm Cortex-M4F cores and energy metering AFE
- Measurement voltage range is from 90 Vac to 264 Vac
- Measurement current range depends on the CT ratio used. The current sensor input channels come populated with the default 3.24Ω burden resistors
- Compliant with CT, Shunt or Rogowski Coil sensors
- Opto-Port interface compliant with ANSI C12.20 protocol for AMR
- Metering pulses output pins (Wh, VARh, VAh) by an Opto-Port and an isolated interface
- Flash memory for meter data storage and firmware update
- Battery-backed real-time clock and power monitor supply
- Custom smart meter 20 segments LCD and its menu control buttons
- Isolated debug interface (UART) by a USB bridge
- Interface for Xplained PRO boards and MikroBUS standard add-on boards
- A safety case to handle the board without electrical shock risk
