The MCP16701A is a Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC) designed for the PCI100x Switchtech family, operating with an input voltage range of 2.7V to 5.5V. For this application, it has been pre-configured to provide the 3.3V (1.5A), 1.8V (3A) and 2x 0.8125V (1x 4.5A and 1x 3A) rails needed by the PCI1003 Switch. To expand the input voltage, the MCP16701A is supplied by the MCP16363 Buck (configured to deliver 5V (3A)).
The PCI1003 PMIC Power Board includes reverse battery protection, overvoltage and overcurrent protection.
