Overview

The BBS MCU Sample Kit 1 is the inaugural offering in a series of Breakout Board solutions. This kit includes four microcontroller boards, providing all the essentials for initiating prototype development. The only additional requirements are a Microchip programming device and power for the PCB. The four boards feature versions of AVR, PIC, dSPIC, and PIC32C devices. Alongside the fully populated PCBs, the kit also includes a blank PCB, which can be used to prototype any other compatible device. This enables engineers to create a prototype tailored to the specific device needed for the final application.

Build Your Next Prototype Quickly With a Breakout Board Solution (BBS)

Breakout Board Solutions (BBS) represent the epitome of compact circuit design, engineered to facilitate single-function prototyping with seamless integration. Each board is designed to serve as an individual functional unit, streamlining the prototyping process. Blank BBS PCBs enable you to test any pin compatible device.

Microchip’s  Breakout Board Solutions portfolio encompasses a diverse range of microcontrollers, power systems, analog interfaces, and sensor boards, providing a comprehensive platform for evaluating various design alternatives. Utilizing standard headers, large footprints, and generously spaced layout geometries, these boards are designed for effortless customization. For example, modifications to output voltages can be achieved with our power supply Breakout Boards, while adjustments to gains are possible with our OpAmp Breakout Boards by changing simple to access large footprint resistors.

As a versatile suite of tools, Breakout Board Solutions are an invaluable asset for transitioning your project from the conceptual phase to a functional prototype, making them a must-have in your design repertoire.

Why Choose BBSs to Prototype Your Design?

  • Rapidly prototype and test Microcontroller, Power Supply, Analog and sensor circuits fly-wiring BBS to existing designs or plugging them into solderless breadboards.
  • Evaluate the individual performance of the individual BBS device without the encumbrance of additional external circuitry.
  • Single function boards that allow you to explore each part of your block diagram with different options for Power, Analog, and Processors.
  • With the single functions of these boards, you can test the performance of various breakout board devices and choose the device which best fits the needs of your application.
