Overview

The RTG4-DEV-KIT provides space customers with an evaluation and development platform for applications such as data transmission, serial
connectivity, bus interface and high speed designs using RTG4 Radiation-Tolerant High-Density High-Performance FPGAs. 

The development board features a RT4G150 device offering more 150,000 logic elements in a Ceramic package with 1,657 pins. 

RTG4 Dev Kit Ordering Information

  • RTG4-DEV-KIT  : End of Life (EOL). RTG4 standard-speed silicon in a 1657-pin CBGA package. For new designs, use RTG4-DEV-KIT-1.
  • RTG4-DEV-KIT-1  : RTG4 "-1" silicon, 15 % faster than standard speed. 1657-pin Ceramic Ball Grid Array (CBGA) package
  • RTG4-DEV-KIT-CG : RTG4 Standard speed silicon in 1657-pin Ceramic Column Grid Array (CCGA) package
  • RTG4-DEV-KIT-CG-1  : RTG4 "-1" silicon, 15 % faster than standard Speed. 1657-pin Ceramic Column Grid Array (CCGA) package

RTG4 Development Kits are available in CBGA and CCGA package options. CCGA devices use the same package as space flight models, while CBGA devices are intended for design prototyping and evaluation only and are not qualified for environmental testing, flight testing, or space flight.

Note: Both CBGA and CCGA kits are offered with standard-speed and -1 speed-grade RTG4 PROTO devices. In Libero® SoC, there is no distinction between CBGA and CCGA packages or between PROTO and space flight devices; designs targeting the CCGA1657 package can be used for prototyping with CBGA1657 devices.

The RTG4 Development Kit board includes the following features:

  • Two 1GB DDR3 synchronous dynamic random access memory (SDRAM)
  • 2GB SPI flash memory
  • PCI Express Gen 1 x1 interface
  • PCIe x4 edge connector
  • One pair SMA connectors for testing of the full-duplex SERDES channel
  • Two FMC connectors with HPC/LPC pinout for expansion
  • RJ45 interface for 10/100/1000 Ethernet
  • USB micro-AB connector
  • Headers for SPI, GPIOs
  • FTDI programmer interface to program the external SPI flash
  • JTAG programming interface
  • RVI header for application programming and debug
  • Flashpro programming header
  • Embedded trace macro (ETM) cell header for debug
  • Dual in-line package (DIP) switches for user application
  • Push-button switches and LEDs for demo purposes
  • Current measurement test points
  • RTG4 Development Board with one RT4G150 FPGA
  • USB A male to micro-B male Cable, three feet long 28/28AWG USB 2.0
  • USB A to mini-B cable
  • 12 V, 5 A AC power adapter
  • Quickstart Card

Please Note: a Libero SoC Design Software Platinum license is required to use the RT4G150 device which must be purchased and is not included with the kit.
