Overview

The Microchip AVR64DU32 Curiosity Nano evaluation kit is a hardware platform to evaluate microcontrollers in the AVR DU family. The kit comes with a fully integrated programmer and debugger that provides seamless integration with Microchip MPLAB X.

The kit's array of features, including a variable voltage power supply, dual USB Type-C® connectors, a virtual serial port, and a DGI, facilitates easy integration into a custom design.

The AVR64DU32 Curiosity Nano features two USB Type-C® connectors, one for programming and debugging, and one connected to the AVR64DU32’s USB 2.0 full-speed peripheral.

  • Two USB Type-C® Connectors:
    • One connected to the on-board debugger
    • One connected to the AVR64DU32’s USB 2.0 full-speed peripheral
  • One Yellow User LED
  • One Mechanical User Switch
  • One 32.768 kHz Crystal
  • One green power and status LED
  • On-Board Debugger support in Microchip MPLAB® X IDE:
    • Board identification
    • Virtual serial port (CDC)
    • Programming and debugging
    • Two debug GPIO channel (DGI GPIO)
  • USB Powered with power multiplexling
  • Adjustable Target Voltage:
    • MIC5353 LDO regulator controlled by the on-board debugger
    • 1.8–5.1V output voltage (limited by USB input voltage)
    • 5.0V Default output voltage setting
    • 500 mA maximum output current (limited by ambient temperature and output voltage)
