Overview
ATPL360-EK is an evaluation kit for the PL360 modem from Microchip. The evaluation kit includes two PL360MB smart metering boards, allowing to evaluate the performance of PL360 device in point to point links using Power Line Communication (PLC).
- The ATPL360 EK comprises two PL360MB modem boards, allowing evaluation of point to point Power Line Communications performance.
- Four "coupling boards" are attached to the kit, addressing the following frequency bands:
- Two PLCOUP007 coupling boards for frequencies below 100 kHz (CENELEC A profile)
- Two PLCOUP006 coupling boards for frequencies between [150 .. 500] kHz (FCC / ARIB profile).
- PRIME and G3 Power Line Communication protocols are fully supported.
- PC Tools to evaluate the communication and network performance are included (PHY tester, PLC sniffer, network manager, etc...)
- PL360MB boards implement a SAM4CMS16C system on chip able to support a complete Smart Meter implementation.
- ATPL360 EK boards can be supplied with DC and directly from 100 / 125 / 230 Vac, 50-60 Hz power input.
