Automotive Ethernet Products

The automotive industry is moving rapidly toward Ethernet-based In-Vehicle Networks (IVNs). Providing the infrastructure to support the software-defined vehicle, IVNs include zonal control and gateways, high-performance central compute and telematics systems. Our VelocityDRIVE™ solutions deliver secure, safe and proven hardware and software to simplify development effort and reduce cost and risk.

The rise of Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) is increasing the number of cameras and sensors in vehicles. Next-generation vehicles may have six or more cameras for L2 and L2+ ADAS. As sensor technology improves, data rates over 2 Gbps are needed. The ASA-ML standard, developed by OEMs, suppliers, and vendors like Microchip, supports this shift to standards-based serializers and deserializers.

10BASE-T1S

10BASE-T1S extends Ethernet to the edge of OT and IT networks, even with incompatible devices and hardware. It offers 10 Mbps, multidrop transmission with up to eight transceiver nodes over 25m. This technology reduces system cost by using a single wire pair and increases scalability, requiring fewer switch ports, cables, and switches while enabling standard Ethernet communication without gateways.
