Description
With automation and connectivity becoming increasingly prevalent in industrial, commercial and residential settings, the need for real-time monitoring using sensors has continued to grow. The types of sensors found in these settings are commonly used to measure and monitor a wide variety of physical properties, such as temperature, occupancy and pressure. This application note will discuss how the advanced analog peripherals found in many 8-bit PIC® microcontrollers, such as the 12-bit ADC with Computation (ADCC) and the integrated Operational Amplifier (OPA) modules, can be used for analog signal conditioning and acquisition in real-time sensor applications.
