MM - MPLAB® Xpress IDE Edition - Ep. 14 - How to Use Unique Identifier and Peripheral Calibration
Do you know how to use the Unique Identifier number on newer PIC® microcontrollers? Are you trying to calibrate the temperature indicator, voltage references, or Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) output values? Maybe you have an Internet of Things application where you need to know how to tell different devices apart. A sensor node is also a great application where calibrated values given by the chip will speed up testing time and increase the accuracy of your node. These can both be done with the Device Information Area (DIA) on PIC microcontrollers and the Signature Row on AVR® devices. The unique identifier and calibration values are factory tested and easily accessed on certain PIC16 and PIC18 parts.
