This video looks at the new MPLAB ICE 4, Microchip’s fastest and most feature-rich in-circuit emulator and production programmer. Able to connect to host computers using USB, ethernet, or WiFi, it provides features such as low-level data gateway interfaces, runtime watches, and PC profiling. It also provides advances features, like a power monitor, which samples current and voltage on two independent channels; and instruction and instrumented trace, which lets you observe your program's flow. A new 40-pin high-speed target cable increases performance, but supplied adaptor boards allow connection to a wide range of existing hardware.
